That means it’s time to rank the teams heading into the season.
The chase to win the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship is on. Next spring, the championships will be held at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, the second year of a three-year contract.
Last year, Stanford captured its second national championship in three years, knocking off former Pac-12 foe UCLA 3-2 in the match-play final to win the title. With three starters back, and the best signing class in the country coming in, don’t expect the Cardinal to go anywhere when it comes to the national title conversation.
Here’s a look at Golfweek’s 2024-25 women’s college golf preseason rankings.

The defending national champions reloaded in a big way. Sure, three players ,Paula Martin Sampedro, Kelly Xu and Megha Ganne, return from the title team in the spring, but the top signing class also enters the fold, featuring Andrea Revuelta, Meja Ortengren and Nora Sundberg. The Cardinal isn’t going anywhere.

USC made the national championship match two years ago and lost against Wake Forest, but this year’s roster may be more impressive than that talented one. The Trojans’ best player may be incoming freshman Jasmine Koo, who had an incredible 2024 leading up to her college career, but don’t forget about fellow top-10 amateur Catherine Park and Augusta National Women’s Amateur runner-up Bailey Shoemaker.

The Longhorns are headed to the SEC and have a new coach, but don’t expect them to have a drop off. Laura Ianello takes over after leaving Arizona, and she inherited a talented roster featuring Cindy Hsu, Lauren Kim, Farah O’Keefe and Bohyun Park, one of the deepest and experienced teams in the country.

UCLA may have surprised some folks making a run into the national championship match last year, but the Bruins have plenty of talent on the roster. Senior Zoe Campos is the featured star, but incoming freshman Francesca Fiorellini joins the fold this spring and will look to add more star power alongside Caroline Canales, Meghan Royal and Natalie Vo.

The Razorbacks return plenty of talent from last season’s team, but the best player on the roster is Maria Jose Marin. The sophomore from Columbia won medalist honors at the 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur and was in the semifinals before she conceded her match with an injury, but healthy, Marin has a chance to be one of the best players in the country.

Florida State has other notables on the roster like Mirabel Ting, but the star is Lottie Woad, the No. 1 amateur in the world who has had a 2024 to remember. She led after the opening round of the 2024 NCAA Championship, but she also won the 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur and won the Smyth Salver as low amateur at the 2024 AIG Women’s Open before playing in the Curtis Cup.

The 2023 national champions lost a key piece of their lineup in Rachel Kuehn, but it’s Macy Pate’s time to step up and lead the Demon Deacons. The sophomore was good as a freshman, but expect her to step up into a new role this season. Also returning are Carolina Chacarra and Anne-Sterre den Dunnen.

Northwestern has plenty of experience returning on its 2024-25 squad, including All-Big Ten Conference honorees Lauryn Nguyen and Ashley Yun, the latter of who was also named Big Ten Freshman of the Year. The Wildcats are also set to add a talented trio of newcomers in first-years Elise Lee, Megan Meng, and Hsin Tai Lin.

The Aggies, which have made match play each of the last three years, return plenty of talent from last season’s team, including 2024 NCAA individual champion Adela Cernousek. Also returning is
Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio, and joining the fold is talented freshman Vanessa Borovilos.

A key piece in 2023 U.S. Women’s Amateur champion Megan Schofill is gone, but Anna Davis, in what will be her first full year of college golf, will step into the leadership role for the Tigers. Also returning are Katie Cranston and Casey Weidenfeld.
