For those golfers who think that the golf swing has change drastically over the past 100 years, I recommend you revisit that thought. The basic tenents of weight shift, stance, body position, etc have been refined through the use of science, however the basic movements (or faults) remain the same. Over the years, I have struggled with some faults and was lucky enough to find a solution. Knowing what I do not know, it is always nice to see legends talk about how to improve our golf swing. And today, Bobby Jones offers three faults to avoid when developing our golf swing.
One of the greatest challenges faced by amateurs deals with body movement during the multitude of swing movements. My quick fix to most of the extra motion is to try and keep my head still. This fix is still prevalent in my swing today and something that I usually revisit once or twice during each season. My challenge generally stems from trying to hit the ball too hard to gain distance, but again that is a personal challenge.
Bobby Jones quickly describes three swing faults to avoid. He explains the issues quickly using visual aides, so it is important to be focused on what he is offering. Overall, he hits the nail on the head of three swing faults that all amateurs should avoid.
Golf is a sport that requires focus on many things in order to be successful. Avoiding large challenges at the beginning of your golfing journey is always a good thing. Bobby Jones demonstrates three swing faults to avoid, but it is always up to use to decide on if we want to heed his advice. Personally, I wish I had this information when I first started. I would have made my journey a little less bumpy.
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
