How? Kirk won the first event of the calendar year, and the opening Signature Event of the season, at a low-scoring event in Hawaii. Kirk shot a final round of eight-under par 65 to hold off Sahith Theegala and Jordan Spieth, on a final round which also saw Justin Rose tie the course record of 61 and Sungjae Im set a new record for birdies in a tournament (34).
